Yes Deer.

An old pen sketch that I enjoyed painting over.  My breakdowns are usually done in ballpoint pen. The pen lines can be seen underneath of course.   Sketching  in pen good habit I picked up from Walt Stanchfeld.  There is an honesty that pen forces you to do regardless of what "mistakes" (no mistakes, just happy accidents) you might make. If you look at Heinrich Kley there is a  life and vitality that his work has despite the perceived chaos of his line.  Quote from another hero of mine, "Don't aim for clean drawings.  Aim for drawings that have clarity."

Drawing 4 for 2015.
